Welcome!

The San Gabriel & Moonshine Creek Railroad is a 1:20.3 scale live steam narrow gauge line fictitiously modeled around the turn of the century. The road name is derived from an actual stream called Moonshine Creek flowing behind the owner’s home and his passion for amateur gold prospecting, the first gold flakes of which he found in California’s East Fork of the San Gabriel River. The 250+ foot long semi-elevated single mainline railroad is built on a sloping yard and features a 2-track engine “pit” where live steam engines are fired up. Compressed air and electricity are among the amenities provided in the pit as well as twin 9-foot umbrellas casting shade during those hot summer days. Two crossover sidings provide train reversing in both directions.

With gold mining and moonshine serving as the line’s main industries, both of which helped build this country, the San Gabriel & Moonshine Creek Railroad is rich with American tradition.
